Balance Yoga’s Hot 26

Traditional methods include a series of 26 postures (asanas) and two breathing exercises (pranayamas) which are suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Each posture stretches and strengthens muscles, ligaments and joints, preparing the body for the next posture in the series. The traditional method systematically moves fresh, oxygenated blood to 100% of your body and to each organ and fiber, restoring all systems to a healthy working order. This 90-minute hot yoga program, practiced in a heated room, is designed to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness or injury and limit the effects of aging. In addition to the physical benefits of Yoga, this series of postures combines the skills of concentration, patience, determination, and self-control, which leads to increased mental clarity and reduced stress.

Balance Yoga’s intro to the Hot 26

Beginner level class! Essentially the same as the Hot 26! We cut the length of the class in half by only doing one set of each pose. We are offering this class so anyone can try.  If you’ve been afraid to try the Hot 26 because 90 minutes maybe too much, then this one might suit you better. All levels are welcome.

Balance Yoga’s Silent Hot 26

Hot 26 class performed with a teacher in lead position. This class is usually 60 to 70 minutes.

(You must have attended at least 10- Hot 26 classes before attending Silent Hot 26)

Vinyasa Hatha Flow

Hatha describes traditional yoga postures and Vinyasa describes a continuous flow where one pose flows into the next synchronizing with the breath.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga where poses are held 3-5 minutes targeting tendons,ligaments, and connective tissue. Yin yoga is the perfect complement to yang styles of yoga that target the muscles. Yang styles include Bikram, vinyasa, flow, hot etc. A typical class is 75 minutes, held in a cool, dark room. All poses are on the floor. Yin tissue is stretched increasing circulation and energy to the core. Increased range of motion for the joints is one of the many benefits to a Yin practice.

Vinyasa Power Flow

This is an energetic, vigorous style of yoga. Poses flow one into the other while incorporating the breath with the movements. The founder of this style, Baron Baptiste, calls it “the perfect blend of sweat and serenity”.  Now practice with music in this class.

Hatha Yoga

This class is for all levels.  Based on the Sivananda yoga system.  The focus is to fully relax the mind and body through pranayama (breathing exercises), asanas (yoga postures)and Savasana (guided deep relaxation). Refreshing and renewing to the body and mind.

Intermediate Hot Yoga Class
